Grape
Carmenère
Carmenère is a red grape variety originating in Bordeaux, France, where it was one of the original varieties in classic blends. After phylloxera nearly wiped it out in Europe it survived in Chile where it was long confused with Merlot. Today Carmenère is Chile's signature grape and produces deeply coloured wines with aromas of red pepper, dark fruits and spices.
