The Wine Profile is operated by Parallel Arc Industries. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handle your personal data in accordance with GDPR (EU General Data Protection Regulation).

When you register we collect:

  • Username
  • Email address
  • Password (encrypted, never stored in plain text)

We also collect gameplay data such as quiz results, points and progress to power the application's features.

  • Create and manage your account
  • Save your quiz results and progress
  • Display leaderboards and club features
  • Send password reset emails

We use the following cookies:

  • Session cookie — required for login
  • CSRF cookie — security protection for forms
  • Language cookie — saves your language preference
  • Google Analytics — anonymised usage statistics. Requires your consent.

Third-Party Services

We use the following services that process personal data:

  • Heroku — web hosting. Your account and gameplay data is stored on Heroku's servers in the USA.
  • Google Analytics — anonymised usage statistics. Requires your consent. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Your Rights

Under GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and all data
  • Object to processing of your data

Data Retention

We store your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account all personal data is removed within 30 days.

International Transfers

Heroku is based in the USA. The transfer is made in accordance with EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC). Image storage is within the EU via Amazon S3 in Stockholm.
